Bright Scholars of Iowa Award 

* Funded by the Bright Foundation this award is a need and merit based grant designed to help ensure a selected number of outstanding Iowa high school seniors have the financial means to complete a two-year or four-year college education without debt 

*  The amount of the scholarship is equal to the cost of attendance, less other gift aid (including Pell Grants, institutional grants and scholarships, and private scholarships).

* This award is renewable for up to three additional years, providing the student maintains a 2.50 cumulative GPA and full-time enrollment  

 

Bright Scholars of Iowa Awards are granted by Iowa State University, University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, Southwest Community College, and Indian Hills Community College

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Undergraduate Scholarship Program 

* Financial needs based scholarship to attend an accredited college/university on a full-time basis and work during summer breaks at the Agency 

* Scholarship recipients receive tuition assistance up to $18,000 per calendar year for tuition, mandatory fees and books, daily allowance for meals and incidentals during summer tours, reimbursement for transportation costs between school and Washington, DC, annual salary, insurance and more 

* Recipients are required to work at the Agency after college graduation for a period equal to 1.5 times the length of the college sponsorship you received from CIA

College Board Opportunity Scholarships 

 * A program that guides you through the college application process 

* No essay, application, or minimum GPA required 

* Students are rewarded for effort and initiative by completing key steps along your path to college for a chance to earn scholarships 

* The more effort you put in, the more opportunities you have to earn a scholarship. Complete all six steps, and you’re eligible to earn $40,000. Scholarships will be awarded through monthly drawings to students who complete each action

Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship 

 * Designed to work with other state and federal programs to completely cover the cost of tuition toward a certificate, diploma, or associate degree in a high-need field 

* Can be used at Iowa community colleges or accredited private colleges in Iowa that offer eligible programs of study

Guardian Scholars Program 

* Scholarships intended for students who have spent time in Foster Care in Iowa, or lived without the support of parents, between the ages of 14-18

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program 

* Receive up to $2,500 to pursue a career or technical certificate/degree  

* Must complete high school (or earn a GED)

* Must exhibit commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program  

* Demonstrate critical financial need  

* Demonstrate perseverance in overcoming adversity

* Be under the age of 30 and a US citizen

* Application will be open with a rolling deadline until all awards have been given out

* Priority given to applicants with the greatest financial need

Kibbie Grant (Iowa Skilled Workforce Shortage Tuition Grant) 

 * Eligible candidates are Iowa residents enrolled in specified career or technical education programs at Iowa community colleges  * The maximum Kibbie Grant award is one-half of the average Iowa community college tuition and mandatory fees per year for up to two years of education. Part-time students may be eligible for prorated amounts

Mount Mercy University Catherine McAuley Scholarship (Cedar Rapids. IA)  

* Eligible students are Iowa residents who graduated from an Iowa high school, and whose family income is $45,000 or less annually  

* Students are expected to reside on campus all four years, participate in the College Success Program during their first year, and file FAFSA

* Open to African American juniors and seniors

ASCDIA Scholarship

In memory of Mark Hambleton

* Award Amount: Up To $3000

* The Ag Coop Safety Directors of Iowa Scholarship is open to high school Seniors looking to go on to a career in an Agriculture or Safety related field and must be planning to attend college/university during the upcoming school year.

* Applicants will be required to fill out a simple application and submit an essay on “What does Ag Safety mean to you?”.

* One letter of recommendation from a non-family member is also required.

Basin Electric Power Cooperative

* Twenty $1,000 scholarships go to children of Basin Electric or its subsidiary employees.

A high school senior or graduate who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school.​

* The parent of the applicant must be either a full-time or part-time employee of Basin Electric Power Cooperative or its subsidiaries on the application deadline date.

* Applications can be obtained from Basin Electric plant secretaries, from Human Resources, or an electronic version can be found on Basin Electric's employee intranet, Inside Basin.

* The Cedar Valley Home Builders Association (HBA) awards two to four scholarships a year with a total of $2,000 paid out annually.

Foundation for Rural Services

* The foundation annually awards scholarships to an exceptional group of rural students for their first year of college or vocational school. All applicants require partnership with an NTCA—The Rural Broadband Association member company to be eligible.

Future Ag Leaders Scholarship Program

* Student is a child or dependent of a part-time, active employee or a full-time, active employee of Iowa Select Farms, LLP.

* Transcript showing the student’s GPA for the prior year.

* 300–400-word essay describing the student’s academic and career goals.

Iowa Select Farms will make annual awards up to $2,500 per student.
